Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Models Week 12 Round Up

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 12 competition put a new driver on top of the point standings. Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN drove the Dixon Plumbing Rocket to his sixth win of the season on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN.

Skinner used his last week to earn full points to post a best 11-week total of 535 points to take over the point lead. Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL went into Week 12 action as the point leader, but had an 11-place finish on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL.

Mitchell was unable to net on a 41 and dropped to second with a best 11-week total of 527 points. Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS started the weekend in the second spot of the Late Model National points, but he did not start the main event on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS and is now fourth in the standings with 515 points after not netting on a 41.

The defending Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS used his final week to earn full points with a win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Billy Riels Racing Special. Lee’s eighth win of the season moved him into the third spot of the National standings with 517 points.

Tootie Arnold of Meadeville, MS is fifth in the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Late Model standings with 512 points and Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is sixth with 500 points. Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN is seventh with 498 points and Josh Amacher of Tullahoma, TN is eighth with 483 points. The top eight drivers have reached the 11-week mark of their respective seasons.

Oakley Johns of Hohenwald, TN drove the Shoals Box and Pallet Special to his sixth win of the season on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summerville, TN and is ninth in the National standings with 473 points. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model standings with 463 points. Both Johns and Scarbrough have one more week to earn full points.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total. The 2020 National Champion will earn $10,000.

In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 12 action, Ronnie Graham of Richton, MS took a 40-point win on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Gary Parton was the winner on Saturday night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.

Other Week 12 Saturday night winners were Hunter Blackwell of Clarksville, TN with a 40-point victory at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN driving the C. Blackwell Construction CVR and Christopher Showah of Indianola, MS was a 40-point winner at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS in the M&D Aviation Special.

Randall Beckwith of Kilmichael, MS was a 40-point winner in the Beckwith Forestry Service Rocket at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Christian Hanger of Winchester, TN drove the Hanger Hardwood Rocket to victory at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. Kody Barber of Bogalusa, LA was the winner at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS in the Barber’s Hardware Special.

Jake Traylor of LaGrange, GA was the winner at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the Traylor Racing Special and Josh Huss was a 40-point winner at Tri County Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the Griffin Automotive Special.
