Crate Racin’ USA National Weekly Points Recap: Week 27 of 30

(Eastaboga, AL - September 5, 2025) – The 2025 Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series season has entered its final stretch, and with just three weeks remaining, all four national championships are still undecided. Tight margins separate the leaders from their closest challengers, ensuring an exciting finish to Week 30.

CRUSA Dirt Late Models
Defending champion David Williamson remains the driver to beat, sitting atop the standings with 693 points. But his quest to join the elite list of multiple-time champions is under heavy pressure. Brady Walton and Chris McElhenney are deadlocked at 681 points, just 12 markers behind the leader.

It’s far from a three-man race, however. Sid Scarbrough (679) and Ben Davis (672) are both within striking distance, keeping the top five separated by only 21 points. Former national champion Shannon Lee (655) lurks just outside the group, while rookies Brody Williams (625) and Blake Glass (622) continue to impress inside the top 15.

CRUSA Late Model Sportsman
The Sportsman division has seen a dramatic tightening in recent weeks. Brett White has held the top spot most of the season and leads with 698 points, but Devin Whatley (689) has slashed the margin to just 9 points with three weeks to go.

Behind them, a fierce battle is developing for the podium positions. Chace Pennington (687) sits just two points behind Whatley, while rookie Jarrett Jones (684) is only three back of Pennington. Covy Parsons (679) rounds out the top five, giving the division five drivers within 19 points of the lead.

Consistency has also kept drivers like Brodie Thompson (655) and Zack Owens (653) in the hunt for strong year-end finishes, while rising stars such as Brandon Lunsford (650) and Colby Ponds (644) continue to hold their own in the top 10.

CRUSA Street Stocks
For much of 2025, Calvin Martin has stood tall in the Street Stock division, but with three weeks left his lead is shrinking. Martin holds 700 points, but Bryce Sheasby (680) has closed the gap to just 20 points on the strength of eight feature wins this season, including a third-place finish at Magnolia on August 31.

Travis Marsh (662) remains well in the fight in third, just 38 points back, making this one of the tightest championship battles in recent memory. Behind the leaders, Malachi Magee (645) continues an impressive rookie campaign in fourth, while James Sheasby (639) rounds out the top five.

The top 10 is filled with hungry competitors, including Shelby Sheedy (636) and rookie Corey Buhler (618), both within reach of climbing higher before the season closes.

CRUSA Modified Sportsman
Luke Riddle has been the benchmark of consistency all season in the Modified Sportsman ranks, and it shows in the standings. With 685 points, 5 victories, and 17 Top-10 finishes in 18 starts, Riddle leads the way.

Ron Grandel (657) remains his closest challenger, boasting 3 wins and an equally impressive 19 Top-10s in 20 races, but trails by nearly 30 points. Keith Coan (648) sits third and could still play spoiler if the leaders stumble, while Colton Grimes (602) and Parker Thompson (563) complete the top five.

Further down the order, veterans like Eddie Riddle (542) and Chuck Gipson (508) continue to add strong finishes to their résumés, while rookie Chad Gentry (521) has made a statement by breaking into the top 10 in his first season.
