September 10, 2024 – The American Crate Late Model Series is gearing up for one of the most anticipated events of the season—the Doug Ingalls Classic at Ark-La-Tex Speedway on Saturday, September 14th. The weekend will include a $1,500-to-win feature for the Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned 604 Late Models, this marks the ninth event of the 2024 season for the series. The action-packed night will also showcase a full lineup of racing events across multiple classes.
The Doug Ingalls Classic weekend kicks off with an open practice session on Thursday, September 12th, followed by a full day of racing on Friday, September 13th. The Friday night events will feature Modifieds racing for a $1,500 top prize, Limited Mods/BMods competing for $500, Factory Stocks vying for $500, Sportsters and Tuners both racing for $200 each.
As the championship battle intensifies, the current points standings are incredibly tight. Dennie Gieber of Frankston, TX, leads the standings with 381 points, but his margin over second-place Beau Begnaud of Spring, TX, is razor-thin—just one point. Third-place Cory Davis of Seminole, TX, is only two points behind Gieber, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.
In the 2024 season so far, Gieber, Davis, and Begnaud have collectively won six of the eight races. Other winners this season include Corey Leonard and Robbie Starnes, adding further excitement to an already competitive field.
